Lot creation best practices

Last updated: April 27, 2026

Buyers cannot inspect items physically before bidding starts. Your listing must compress trust into imagery and text—the same fields surfaced in seller forms such as new auction flows and catalogue editors.

Photography

  • Use bright, neutral lighting and multiple angles.
  • Include macro shots for defects designers care about.
  • Show scale references when size is ambiguous.

Descriptions & condition

Pick the closest condition preset (for example New / Like New / Good) and explain nuanced wear in prose. Omitting damage can convert into disputes later.

Categories & keywords

Selecting the accurate category improves discovery and moderation throughput—mislabelled luxury goods may trigger manual review.
